We’re not pro gamers, but we can relate because they are human. We’ve been in those situations, we’ve experienced-even if in a small dose-what they go through. In a vacuum, they are tedious chores our eyes have to endure, but our brains connect the dots. Something like Beyond the Game serves as a beautiful anthesis to what the Overwatch League feels like, something it should take note of and learn from its lessons. Sometimes it’s a nine to five sometimes it’s the dull annoyance of travelling on business, sometimes it’s having meetings with clients and sponsors alike.Ī lot like what many of us experience-just with a different vehicle. It isn’t always glitz, glamour, and spotlights. Each car ride, each monotonous task away from their passion, each of these shots perfectly exemplifies what it is-work. Where did they come from? What was childhood like?
